Friday, November 18, 2005Still Aflame Hi all y'all,
I am a tad embarrassed to check in after so long. I've been busy working on new stuff. It looks like I've got about half the record recorded, and am working on the other half. All the boys have been working on it with me: Jeff, Gavin, Doug, Don, and Ian McGettigan producing. I think it's going to be a little more acoustic than the last one, but it grooves a little more. Lyrically things are strange because it seems like relationship stuff is a little boring to me these days and I'm nervous to tell you what I think about social issues. Maybe it will just be a party record. I dunno. I just got the reissue of Springsteen's Born To Run with the Hammersmith Odeon concert from '75. I have been waiting my entire life for such a thing. I have clung to a shotty hi-8 bootleg of a '78 concert in Passaic NJ for years as my portal into Bruce's youth. You should check this BTR thing if you can. My roommate Tim and I wrote a pilot for a show based on a family of suburban toughs which took up a little of my time. Shows have been fewer and further between as P.O.O. gets older, but it looks like this next one is going to get a bit more of a push, so I'm sure I'll be in your faces again before you know it. The band is getting tighter (both socially and musically) all the time, but you know what? We still don't have a proper name. Let's get some suggestions happening. Go for it. begin. Now. p
